Plans for shoot -
In this shoot I intend to capture the clouds from a passenger who travels perspective. I intend to do this by taking pictures from an airplane window when at a high altitude to interpret how someone who travels a lot would view the clouds and sky. Therefore I am going to research a Cloudscape Photographer which is someone who photographers the clouds and sky.
Research Influences -
Julian Lennon
Born in Liverpool, England and from a very young age Julian had always felt he observed life differently. He developed his personal expression through such mediums as music, documentary filmmaking, philanthropy, and now photography. Julian seeks to depict his personal journey as an artist in the midst of unique life experiences. One of Julians projects was on Cloudscape Photography which is the photography of the clouds and sky.

Edits -
A01 - I developed my work based on Julian Lennon by exploring how they had captured images of the sky and the art of cloudscapes and then creating my own series of images that can also resemble this. I think by using manual mode it meant I was able to take the images from different angles and perspective just like Lennon had done and it makes a series of photos.
A02 - In this shoot I used a Canon Dslr which I put into manual mode. This meant I was able to adjust the aperture and shutter speed according to the lighting outside. Due to these images being taken from a plane window I did not use a tripod but instead held my camera making sure to capture different angles of the clouds. Therefore, developing my technique and adjusting the aperture to control the sharpness of the image. I then also went on to selecting my best images and editing them in photoshop where In turn I adjusted the vibrance and contrast to make the images reflect warmer tones. I also used curves to burn and dodge around the clouds to make them a lot sharper compared to the overall picture being darker.
A03- My idea for recording travel was to photograph cloudscapes and images from a plane window. Using a high depth of field to create detailed images and really capture the movement of the clouds. I think one of my best images is what I would call ' the sea of clouds' where the is a clear depiction of a line between the clouds and the air. Almost making the clouds look like a mountain range. However when looking at my images to improve I can see that in some images the camera has caught parts of the window or the sky had become misted over making the image appear to be out of focus.
A04 - I believe my images to be relevant to my study as it clearly depicts a part of travelling. It has allowed me to explore the idea of cloudscapes from the perspective of a passenger in a window seat on an aeroplane. It also links to the research of Julian Lennon and reflects a smilier pattern of work which has inspired my photos.

Progression -
In my next shoot I intend to focus on a location of travel. This will be a hot country somewhere and I will focus on capturing landscapes and seascapes. I will make sure to keep my camera sturdy and ensure the images are in focus and try to create some more vibrant photos.
